We're not business coaches who decided the dog industry looked like a nice niche.
We've both actually built dog businesses. We've done the clients, the evenings, the weekends, the trying to answer WhatsApps while making dinner and wondering why being bloody good at the dog bit didn't automatically mean the business bit worked.
Jo came into dog training after a career in advertising and strategy and went on to build her own dog training business to six figures through two pregnancies, babies and all the chaos that comes with trying to grow a business around a young family. She later went on to home educate her two boys while also doing a three-year Animal Behaviour degree, because apparently life wasn't busy enough 😂
Vicky came from the rescue world and had been a dog trainer for 14 years. She'd done the classes, 1:1s, hoopers, massage, dog walking, reactivity work and plenty of the other stuff dog trainers tend to collect along the way! But despite all that experience, her business was turning over around £18k a year.
When she started applying the same business principles Jo had used, she did £50k in six months.
And really, that's a pretty good example of why CBA exists.
Because you can be fucking brilliant at what you do. You can have years of experience, qualifications coming out of your ears and genuinely give a shit about the dogs and people you work with...
…and still have absolutely no idea how to make the business bit work.
We had to figure that bit out too.
Now we teach dog professionals the stuff we really bloody wish someone had taught us earlier.
